Yoga is much more than just a physical activity. It encompasses a wide range of benefits that extend beyond the physical.

This includes the mind body connection that yoga provides, emotional regulation, the way it helps children to focus and concentrate and the values and skills they learn.

  • Mind Body Connection

Kids yoga emphasises the connection between the mind and body. It encourages children to be present in the moment, to listen to their bodies and be aware of their breath. By practising mindfulness and paying attention to physical sensations, children develop a deeper understanding of their bodies and learn to nurture their overall wellbeing.

  • Emotional Regulation

Yoga provides children with tools to regulate their emotions effectively. Through breathing techniques, relaxation exercises and yoga poses, children learn to calm themselves during times of stress or overwhelm. Yoga teaches them to identify and understand their emotions, fostering self awareness and emotional resilience.

  • Focus and Concentration

The practice of yoga requires concentration and focus which helps children develop essential cognitive skills. By encouraging children to stay present during yoga poses and sequences they enhance their ability to concentrate and improve attention span.

Our Kids Yoga Program integrates values and life skills into the classes. Concepts such as gratitude, kindness, patience and respect are included in the yoga classes and curriculum. This helps children cultivate positive attitudes and behaviours that extend beyond the mat. These values become an integral part of their character development and this guides their interactions with other children.
